During the course of my work, I am very often privileged to work with preserved, and new build, mainline steam locomotives such as 'Tangmere', 'Clan Line', 'Flying Scotsman' and 'Tornado', amongst others.

Occasionally, and when work permits, I'll take a few reference pictures, which will be posted here.......

'Tornado'

The truth is, that not much impresses me on the real railway nowadays. That's how it is. Simple.

Recently however, I couldn't fail to be totally awestruck and lost for words, when I arrived at work to find The A1 Locomotive Trust team and their pride and joy 60163 'TORNADO' on shed and in steam.

As it turns out, this is now a regular occurrence, as it often hauls charter workings in our area, stabling right outside our mess room window when in between duties !

To say I was impressed is indeed an understatement......
