| Infrastructure Trip Working |
The purpose of the Infrastructure 'Trip Working' is to position Locomotive's, wagons and on track plant equipment such as cranes and tamping machines in the right place for forthcoming engineering works.
As a result, a Locomotive or indeed several Locomotives, can often be seen with one or more wagons in transit to another yard from where they will be re-marshalled and then dispatched to the place of work in bespoke 'engineering' trains, specifically ordered depending on the type of work involved.
Manor Lane's infrastructure trip working consists of various 'Salmons', 'Rudds', OBA's, 'Fastrols' and 'Seacows'.
